Description: *Notice is hereby given that Okeechobee County, Florida, pursuant to Section 287.055, Florida Statutes, hereby issues this Request for Proposals for RFP 2024-01 Asphalt Resurfacing and New Road Construction. The work for which these bids are to be submitted consists of FDOT SP - 9.5 (Superpave) Asphalt Paving of existing shell and paved roadways. All work, material, installation, and maintenance of traffic shall comply with the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction 2013 (or latest edition). Section 300, 320, 327, 330, 334, 901, 902, 916, and 917 and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) (Latest Edition), as published by the Federal Highway Administration.
*The Contractor is required to be an FDOT approved vendor. The contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, material, and specialized machinery for the performance of the work as shown in the bid document specifications.

*It is expected this Request for Proposal may result in on-demand contracts to meet the need for timely roadway specific services.

Interested firms shall submit (1) original proposal and (4) copies for a total of (5) five, plus, 1 copy of the proposal package on a flash drive in PDF format, submitted in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the proposer and titled: “RFP 2024-01 ASPHALT RESURFACING AND NEW ROAD CONSTRUCTION” no later than 3:00 p.m. (eastern standard time) on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Okeechobee County Historical Courthouse, 304 NW 2nd Street, Room 123, Okeechobee, FL 34972. Any proposals received after the time and date specified will not be opened or considered.

All questions should be submitted in writing by email, no later than Friday, April 12, 2024 at 3:00pm.

Okeechobee County Board of County Commissioners reserve the right to waive formalities or informalities to reject or award any and or all proposals or part(s) thereof, select the firm(s) most qualified, or to negotiate further with any or all responders and accepts no responsibility for the expense of preparation or delivery of proposals. Responses to this Request for Proposals will be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners on May 23, 2024, or shortly thereafter with a recommendation for response to award or rejection of all bids.
BIDDER MUST SUBMIT (1) ORIGINAL AND (4) COPIES, ALONG WITH ONE (1) THUMB DRIVE IN A PDF FORMAT OF THE RESPONSE AND ALL DOCUMENTATION.
