Title: Design/Build Construction for Fort Fredrick Boat Ramp

Deadline: 5/30/2019 3:00 PM   (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Status: Awarded

Solicitation Number: RFP 053019E

Description:

Beaufort County proposes to make improvements to its existing boat ramp known as Fort Fredrick. The proposed improvements will allow the general public easier access to the Beaufort River and neighboring water bodies. The boat ramp is located on the south side of the Beaufort River south of the US Navy Hospital approximate 0.5 miles from the confluence of the Beaufort River and Battery Creek in Beaufort, Beaufort County, South Carolina. Entrance to the boat ramp is off of Old Fort Road in Port Royal, SC. Beaufort County anticipates the proposed improvements consist of, construction of a new concrete boat ramp and floating ground out dock, and concrete abutment. The proposed site work consists of regrading, resurfacing, adding stormwater management, and delineating (with wheel stops) boat trailer spaces to the improved parking area. The main drive and the parking spaces will be surfaced with gravel and gravel pave. The existing boat ramp shall remain. It is anticipated any salt water impacts associated with the project will be mitigated by the purchase of salt water mitigation credits.
