Description: The City of Battle Creek will accept sealed bids for the Lakeview Storage Building Improvement project. This project consists of renovation for a 75’X57’ pole constructions storage building. Improvements will include, but are not limited to removal of interior walls, bathroom, heating elements, overhead and man doors; new ADA bathroom, fans, heating units, epoxy floor treatment, 16’ overhead door, man doors, metal siding and roofing; 20’ south building expansion, site work grading, drainage, and paving per plans.

Overview: The following changes, additions and deletions have been provided:


CHANGE the completion date in the Scope of Work, page 23, from August 1, 2023, to August 1, 2024

The following questions were asked, and answers follow and shall be a material part of the final contract:

Does the Building Envelope have a warranty requirement? We have a one-year warranty from workmanship defects from final acceptance. Item F from Contract Form on page 19.

Would metal roofing with exposed metal fasteners be acceptable? Our preference is a standing seam roof - looking for a roof with a long life (at 80+ years). If valued engineering becomes needed due to budget, we will consider exposed metal fasteners for the roof.


HVAC is indicated as Design Build. Is AC required for the building? No AC required, using Big Ass fans.
o Cost Effective: Ductless Natural Gas Unit heaters recommended with no AC. This is what we want.
o Ventilation in ADA Restroom per code. A 110 CFM fan/light combo for the restroom has been specified. That will meet the code requirement of 80 CFM minimum.

This addendum must be acknowledged on the Offer and Acceptance or Offer to Contract page of your bid or your bid may be deemed non-responsive.
