Description:

A.      The intent of these specifications is to describe the tub grinder for the Murfreesboro Solid Waste Department.  By submitting bid, the bidder is certifying that specifications for the tub grinder can be used for the intended purpose and is a turnkey job. The equipment shall be new, unused and of the manufacturer’s current production design.  The tub grinder quoted must be diesel powered, heavy duty, a commercial tub grinder, consisting of a hammer mill and rotating tub integrated into one complete fifth wheel portable unit. The tub grinder must be designed for wood waste. The tub grinder submitted must be a proven tub grinder that is already in production with no less than five such units in service. The first of the tub grinder units shall have at least 5 years of service in the field prior to the date of the bid. The City will require addresses, phone number and contact information of 3 users of the submitted tub grinder. The tub grinder must be fully assembled, tested and ready to use when the tub grinder is delivered.  By submitting a bid, the City will consider the bid to meet all specifications and requirements.  Bidder shall state any exceptions with specifications.  These specifications are considered the minimum acceptable specifications. Delivery date of tub grinder is required within 12 months of issuance of Purchase Order.
