Description:

The new Shining Stars Pre-School will serve approximately 646 three-year-old (pre-school) and four-year-old (pre-k) students in two sessions (323 students per session).   The new school will be a single story building consisting of classroom, administration, and support spaces.  The Ed Specs called for a new building of approximately 57,784gsf, but based on available funding RRPS is currently studying options to reduce the building program to approximately 44,000gsf.  It is anticipated that the program reductions will be finalized prior to the selection of the CMAR contractor.  The new campus will be located on a currently undeveloped site at Montezuma Blvd NE and Kaiser PL NE, just to the northwest of High Range Park.  The project requires development of building and site features to create a complete and functional campus.  The project will be required to achieve LEED Silver certification.
