Description:

This project is pursuant to the Ensley Redevelopment Plan and intends to install unique landscaping elements and signage directing people to the Ensley Redevelopment Area. The objective is to create a sense of arrival and neighborhood identity for the Ensley Redevelopment Area at the corner of N. Palafox Street and E. Johnson Avenue.

On December 11, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners designated Ensley as a Redevelopment Area finding that it was blighted, and the area had a shortage of affordable homes for low- and moderate-income households. This designation was necessary in the interest of public health, safety, morale, and welfare of the residents in order to eliminate, remedy, and prevent conditions of blight. The Ensley Redevelopment Plan, developed with broad community involvement, supports the future redevelopment of the Ensley Redevelopment Area and is written in compliance with Florida Statues Part III, Chapter 163.
