Description: The City of Albertville, Alabama, will receive sealed bid proposals for various improvements to Motley Street at Albertville City Hall, 116 W. Main St, Albertville, Alabama 35950, until the bid opening on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, at 2 p.m. local time, at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud. Pre-qualification is not required; however, all bidders must conform to the contractor requirements provided in the bid specifications.
Plans, specifications, and contract documents are now available for examination at the office of the Purchasing Director. To obtain plans and specifications, please contact Purchasing Director Michael Brewer.

Type of Addition: Questions/Answers for Motley Bid 879 FYI-24-25

Overview: 1. The soils along the street seem soft and the entire south side of the road is being widened. Are we to include undercut of these soft soils in our lump sum bid? If so, what will the city expect as to depth of undercut and type of backfill material to put back in place? 


Answer: Do not include an allowance but provide unit prices for removal and replacement of unsuitable materials. Engineered fill to achieve 98% compaction under a standard proctor test.

2. Can an allowance for Undercut / Replacement be added to the bid with Unit Prices? 

Answer: Yes

3.  Is there a geo-technical report available for this project? 

Answer: No

4.  Will the City provide a geotech for testing soils and road base? 

Answer: Yes

5.  Will the engineer provide a CAD file that we can use for the layout of the new work? 

Answer:  Yes upon receipt of digital release form.
