Question 6

Posted: 1/30/2025

Question: is the bidder suppose to figure sales tax into the percentage over cost?

Response: Great question. As you likely aware, under State law, if KCDC purchases materials and installs them by its own workers, the materials are sales tax exempt. However, if vendors purchase materials to install for KCDC projects, the materials are not sales tax exempt. Therefore, you will need to calculate sales tax into your costs somewhere. Do not forget that you are responsible for sales tax on materials purchased for KCDC projects when preparing your response to this solicitation.
