Addition 1

Posted: 1/29/2020

Type of Addition: Q & A

Overview:

The RFP states that "If the proposed solution requires additional infrastructure, the winning vendor will be responsible for providing and installing that additional infrastructure." Does this only refer to solutions other than the one listed as preferred?  Are we to assume that if we bid the requested access points that the district has sufficient infrastructure (switch ports, drops, etc.) to support them?  The district has sufficient infrastructure to support the number and type of APs specified in the RFP in the locations that current APs are hung.  If a proposed solution would require additional APs above what is specified or in alternate locations, that would be the responsibility of the vendor to provide.

·        The RFP states that "The winning vendor will conduct a pre and post installation site survey at all locations to determine the ideal locations and quantities of APs necessary to provide the desired coverage and density and adjust those quantities and locations as needed." In this instance, you are requesting specific quantities of access points and stated that these would be replacing existing access points that already have network drops.  Are there any existing issues that would necessitate moving access points?  Also, wireless site surveys are not an eligible service under the E-Rate rules.  Would you be looking for those services (if needed) to be provided as separate ineligible line items?  A site survey will be required to verify that the configuration we currently have is the most efficient and provides enough coverage and density.  If we find that it does not, we will use the per AP price to add locations or will change locations as needed.  If you believe the site survey is ineligible as part of the installation cost, then list it as in ineligible cost on your bid.

Addition 2

Type of Addition: Question answered via email

Overview:

Question #1- Can you clarify response requirements on category 1?

    1. Internet section has no RFP requirement nor can we find any associated file. Are you looking for pricing only outside of formal RFP and would 3 and 5 yr. terms be acceptable to quote?

Yes, the Internet is not part of an RFP, please quote basic service to the district.  There is no term requirement, feel free to quote 1,3, or 5 years.

Question  #2 - Are you looking for separate responses under both 470 -200012884 and 470 200015206? These seems to be under ID#20-25 on Vendor Registry.

2nd section on Category 1 has an associated RFP.

This second section (10gb) with RFP looks to be the same requirement as 470 200015206.

470 200012884 included WAN services but this has been replaced with the district’s formal RFP included in 470 200015206.  Please refer to the district’s RFP for WAN services and respond to it.

Question 1

Posted: 1/21/2020

Question: Would it be possible to get floor plans of the existing WAPS and facilities to calculate cable length to the existing switches and positioning of the new WAPS? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Response: That would take a lot of time. Given that the RFP states that the APs will be installed at existing locations with existing cable. If this is for estimates for adding for new or additional locations, they can estimate 150ft of cable.
