Safety Railing for Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center (DFWBCC) Main Entrance
The Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center (DFWBCC) is a multi-purpose facility with approximately 33,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and 38,000 square feet of open-air, fully-equipped outdoor space. Conventions, trade shows, entertainment events, regional sporting events, association events and civic functions are held here on a year-round basis. The exterior area around the main entrance features a variety of half-walls that may pose a safety hazard if used for sitting, walking and/or climbing. This is an Invitation To Bid (ITB) for the design and installation of safety railings along the lower half-walls at the main entrance to the DFWBCC, generally denoted in red in the images below.
SCOPE OF WORK
Location 1a - Lower Entrance Walls
Top surface width for left wall: nine inches (12”)
Total length for left wall: 20’-6”
Total length for center wall: 16’
Total length for right wall: 7’-9”
Location 1b - Lower Entrance Walls
Top surface width for left wall: nine inches (9”)
Total length for left wall: 7’-3”
Total length for center wall: 25’-1”
Total length for right wall: 7’-3”
Location 1c - Lower Entrance Walls
Top surface width for left wall: nine inches (12”)
Total length for left wall: 7’-9”
Total length for center wall: 16’
Total length for right wall: 20’-6”
Aluminum tubing, welded, and bolted to wall cap, double-row railing. The approximate length is 140’, vendor to verify. Railing consists of 2 rows of 1-1/2” aluminum tubing running continuously along the top surface. Natural finish. Installation included.
The vendor shall be responsible for the following:
1. Perform all services and furnish all supplies, materials, and equipment as necessary for the execution, fabrication, and installation of the railings at the site.
2. Provide a maintenance manual to the County for the railings.
The County shall be responsible for access to the site for installation purposes.
TERM OF CONTRACT
The contract term is anticipated to be no more than one (1) year from Notice to Proceed, but the County wishes the work to be completed sooner.
Note: failure to provide all the required information, in the required format, may disqualify the vendor from further consideration.
