Question 1

Posted: 2/28/2023

Question: Are we able to use CMI's product # UC-75 instead of UC-50. Jason Jones (CMI) has verified that they have 24" wide panels, so the tieback and anchor layout will not need to be changed. Jason also stated this product is significantly stronger than UC 50. J

Response: Yes, this will be an acceptable alternative sheet pile product.

Question 2

Posted: 2/28/2023

Question: #1 - Regarding the concrete trail, please provide dimensions of what is required for pour back on each end (I don't know how much will be removed)? #2 - Are the #8 dowels to be smooth or deformed shown in detail C4 on drawing S5? #3 - Are concrete trucks, company vehicles, equipment, etc. allowed to use Spanish Moss Trail? #4 - Where is the laydown area located? #5 - Spec Section 032000 Part 2.1 states rebar shall be ASTM A615 (plain). However, concrete note #3 on drawings G1 states rebar shall be ASTM A934 (epoxy coated), which is correct? #6 - Is a 6 -mil vapor barrier as specified in Spec Section 033000 Part 2.7 required under all slabs?

Response: #1 – Contractor shall be required to replace slabs that are damaged as a result of construction activities. The quantity is unknown and is based on actual damage incurred to the trail due to vehicle movements and/or construction activity. Refer to Note on Sheet S6. #2 – Deformed #3 – Yes #4 – Laydown area will be limited to areas along the trail in the vicinity of the structure. Additional laydown areas, if required, will be coordinated with the County. #5 – Use plain steel, bar does not need to be epoxy coated. #6 – Vapor barrier requirement has been removed.
