Description: The contractor shall perform landscaping repairs to disturbed areas after service line and main break repairs. The work will include clearing the area of rocks, roots and obstructions, grading the area back to original condition before the repair and installing either seed and straw or sod. The seed or sod should match the vegetation prior to the service line or main repair. The water main and service line repairs will be paid a fixed rate based on the type of repair.
Additionally, the contractor may be directed to perform landscaping not related to water main or service line repairs. These tasks may include installing rip rap, installing topsoil and removing and disposing of excess borrow and waste material. These tasks will be paid based on unit prices by the hour, square yard, cubic yard or ton.
