Description: The goal of the Calhoun County School Safety Program is to ensure that every school in Calhoun County has the opportunity and technology to open a video portal connecting directly with the Calhoun County Central Dispatch Authority to ensure dispatchers have the accessibility to view cameras on any district campus in the event of an emergency including, but not limited to, active shooter, fire or threat. The grant will also provide the opportunity to enhance current school video systems or install cameras in schools that do not have the current technology.
The County of Calhoun is requesting written statements of qualification from consulting firms and/or individuals who can adequately demonstrate they have the resources, experience and qualifications to provide the County with School Surveillance Design & Consulting Services.

Q: Are the listed school districts prepared and expecting this transition to happen? Q: Does the project include scope or budget for the necessary cabling, network and server/storage equipment to support these additional cameras? Thanks!
Response: Thank-you for your inquiry. Q1. Yes, the intent is to utilize a system in the dispatch center to monitor the schools in the event of a crisis. Q2. Yes this project is funded by a grant that we have already been awarded. The budget is defined in the grant. Q3. They are aware of this project. Q4. Yes this project accounts for the needed support accessories for installation. Thank-you.
