Question: It is understood the engineering design team may have been in contact with a vendor for the modifications to the diesel day tank that are required. Is there a company name, person's name and contact information that can be provided so this company can be contacted for pricing?

Response: During design phase, Bowman consulted with Matthew Mathes at Carter Machinery Company, Inc. (8362 Richfood Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116, 804-823-1189).

Question: The existing building BMS system is a Siemens system. Is there a name and contact information for a Siemens account manager or Siemens representative that we can contact for pricing of the scope of work that needs to be covered by Siemens for integrating work within this project into the existing BMS?

Question: The contract bid drawings do not contain any details regarding extensions to existing concrete pads. Are there specific requirements regarding extending the pads such as doweling existing pads/floor, reinforcing steel, wire mesh, and concrete PSI requirements. Can concrete be ready mix type in bags and be mixed on site in the area of the work. If concrete pad extensions are required, is there any concrete "testing" that would be required under this project?

Response: See below for concrete pad extensions scope of work: 1. Remove any concrete coatings in the areas for the pad extension 2. Mechanically scarify/roughen the surfaces 3. Drill/install ½” Hilti Kwik Bolts KB-TZ2 a. Provide three bolts in the vertical face at center of the pad. Provide 3” clearance from the outside edge of the pad and place one bolt at the center. b. Provide two bolts in the floor/horizontal face. Center these on the extension, and provide 3” from the outside edge i. Embed 3” with a minimum 2” projection. Use 4” projection for pads that are 12” or thicker. ii. Projection can be adjusted to support WW panels if desired c. Bolts shall be carbon steel. Galvanized can be substituted if desired 4. Use welded wire fabric panels at mid depth of pads. 4 x 4 – W1.4 x W1.4. 1.5” clear from edges 5. Apply Sika Armatic 110 EpoCem bonding agent to all surfaces (vertical and horizontal) to receive the pad extension. 6. Concrete mix a. 3000 psi. ½” coarse aggregate, air-entrained – 4% -1%,+2%. Slump 3” max, w/c ratio 0.46. cure with water based curing compound. Match any chamfer of original concrete pads. b. Existing chamfer at slab “joint” to be filled with Sika Sikaflex – 2c SL sealant. Block ends as required to contain sealant until it achieves set.

Question: The existing generator is a Caterpillar product. Is there a name and contact information for a CAT account representative that can be provided so we can contact them about the work under this project as it relates to the generator controller?

Question: Bid drawing E502 ATS-3 temporary cabling is identified as 3 sets of 500 mcm. Would 2 sets of 500 mcm be suitable since the breaker is only 800 amps?

Response: Concur. Two sets of 500kCMIL is acceptable.

Question: Is independent third party electrical NETA testing required for the new ATS switches? Typically this is performed as a first tier sub to a prime contractor, not as a direct sub to the electrical contractor. In this instance, the project is being bid by electrical contractor(s) as the prime. Is the electrical contractor expected to sub contract to a third party electrical testing agency for standard NETA testing of new ATS equipment under this project?

Response: Contractor shall comply with specification section 263600-3.3 and provide NETA testing for all new ATS switches. NETA testing with authorized factory service representative is acceptable per the specification.
