Description: PROJECT SUMMARY

The City of Carlsbad in conjunction with the Pearl of the Pecos Arts and Cultural District is proposing to create a Cultural Economic Development Plan for the Pearl of the Pecos Arts and Cultural District.

This initial plan will provide guidance for the next 3 to 5 years directing growth and development within the Pearl of the Pecos Arts and Cultural District (District). In addition, the plan provides a focused process that concentrates on selected issues, considers resource availability, assesses strengths and weaknesses as well as threats and opportunities within the District, and most importantly, is action oriented. The plan serves as an essential tool in the spatial siting of new development and opportunities through insuring the maximum utilization of resources and infrastructure within the District and community.

During the development of the Plan, the contracted agent will be expected to work closely with the established Planning Committee, and its designated subcommittees, in order to address the issues that this committee has identified. As part of the overall Plan development, this committee will serve as a liaison between the City, District and the contractor.
