DUE TO THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CITY HALL, ANY VENDORS WISHING TO HAND DELIVER THEIR BIDS ARE WELCOME TO PLACE THEIR BID(S) INSIDE THE TEMPORARY DROP BOX LOCATED IN THE CITY HALL PARKING LOT. BIDS WHICH ARE HAND DELIVERED MUST BE INSIDE DROP BOX BY 10:00 AM, ON THE BID DUE DATE - MAY 6, 2020. THE DROP BOX IS LOCATED IN THE CITY HALL PARKING LOT WHICH IS LOCATED AT 730 MAINE STREET.

Sealed bids for the Stone Arch Bridge Restoration (SN. 001-6001), South 8th Street (MR 598) Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine Street, City Hall, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 6th, 2020 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The City of Quincy’s MR 598 Project consists of repairing the historic stone arch bridge carrying South 8th Street over Curtis Creek in Quincy. Work includes graffiti removal, rehabilitation of the bridge railings, tuck pointing and cleaning the limestone masonry wall, repairing the existing limestone veneer, replacing the existing sidewalk, and related items.

All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications.

The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.

The City of Quincy is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer and encourages minority group participation in the bidding and construction process.

Bidders are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workers performing work under this contract.

This project contains the requirement that at least 50 percent of all workers performing work under this contract must be residents of Adams County, Illinois.
