The City of Olney will receive bids for the Jasper and Lincoln Street 10" Waterline Replacement project, including PVC piping, valves, fire hydrants, and ancillary work, until 10:00 A.M. on February 24, 2021, at the Olney City Hall, 300 S. Whittle Ave., Olney, IL 62450, at which time and place all bids will be opened.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Olney City Hall at 10:00 A.M. on February 17, 2021.  This date has been changed from the originally scheduled date of February 10.  All contractors are strongly urged to attend and wear a face covering.Bidding information and Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, are available for review at the office of Charleston Engineering Inc., 105 N. Kitchell Ave., Olney, IL 62450.  Copies of the contract documents may be obtained by depositing $50.00 (non-refundable) with Charleston Engineering, Inc., 105 N. Kitchell Ave., Olney, IL 62450.  Phone 618-392-0736.

A certified check or bank draft, payable to the City of Olney, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to 5% of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

The City of Olney reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.

A Substance Abuse Policy shall be submitted before a Contract is awarded.

Bids may be held by the City of Olney for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract.
