NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the TORRANCE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, acting by and through its Board of Education, hereinafter "the District" will receive up to, but not later than the above-stated date and time, sealed Bid Proposals for the contract for the work of the project generally described as RFP #17-05.10.21.
The Torrance Unified School District is seeking competitive proposals from qualified consultants for Workers’ Compensation Third Party Administration & Managed Care Program services, and Liability & Property Third Party Administration. The award of a contract, if made by the District, will be based on the District’s assessment of qualifications pursuant to the following criteria. The District will review responses and contact Service Provider(s) on a rolling basis as it deems necessary and appropriate. The District reserves the right to accept one or more proposals. Any selection will be based upon the best interest of the District. The primary point of contact for this RFP is Richard Vazquez, Director – Purchasing & Communication Services. Proposals in response to this RFP are due by 2:00 PM (Pacific Time) on May 10, 2021, via Vendor Registry at https://vendorregistry.comThe District seeks not just a service provider, but a trusted advisor and partner. The selected service provider will work with the District’s Chief Business Officer and Administration involving Workers’ Compensation claims administration and Managed Care services for all existing claims (open and closed) and new claims for the agreement term. We are also seeking a partner for Property & Liability (P&L) Claims Administration. A service provider may provide a Proposal for any one, two of three of our stated needs. The District will consider vendors who demonstrate creative and effective claims administration and managed care processes that are streamlined and user-friendly, leverage technology, have a strong customer service focus, solid reporting capabilities, proactive and consistent management employees’ occupational absences, competitive rates and fees, and ability to comply with Torrance Unified School District’s performance standards. The District’s Risk Management Department is responsible for management of the District’s Workers’ Compensation, Property & Liability programs. The District’s Risk Management Department coordinates all aspects of the Workers’ Compensation program with the TPA and Managed Care Program (MCP) vendors. This includes: reporting of injuries, employee contact, providing lost time and salary information, early return to work program, claimant service evaluation and maintenance of the District’s Worker’s Compensation claim files. The District is self-insured for Workers’ Compensation and maintains a self-insured retention of $1,000,000 and excess insurance coverage up to $25,000,000 with excess coverage carried by (Keenan/SAFER).For more information please see the attached RFP.
