Description:

This project consists of roadway resurfacing improvements along Muscogee Rd. beginning at Jacks Branch Rd (CR97N) and ending at Nowak Rd. (1.15 miles).  This project will consist of the 2” milling of the existing asphalt, the installation of 2.5” County Spec Type SP 12.5 Asphalt Structure Course and 2” of FDOT SP 12.5 76-22 wearing course, temporary striping after each day of production and thermoplastic striping once the paving has been completed. Right of way restoration with appropriate fill material, grading (To allow water to sheet flow of asphalt), sodding, erosion and sediment control, and all other incidental work is included in this project.

Fifty percent (50%) of milling will be retained by the Escambia County Road Department. This work shall be coordinated by the contractor and Escambia County will provide the required trucks to obtain the 50% of milling 

International Paper receives approximately 300 log trucks per day, all of which come through this section from Alabama.  Due to the number of trips and their loaded weight, a detour is not possible.  Therefore, traffic shall remain open during the duration of this project.
