Transportation (JCDOT) is seeking bids for cleaning catch basins on local roads. The length of the proposed
contract will be for a 2 year term, with the option of a one year extension, if
approved by both parties, commencing on the date of award. Bid prices shall remain firm for the course
of this contract. The most responsive bid shall include the specifications and requirements as stated in RFB#119JX-20

Question: What is the average length and diameter? What is the longest and largest in diameter of the tile needed to be jetted out? How large are the storm water basin and sanitary basin? Will all material be tested for hazardous? Who is responsible for determining if it may be hazardous? Do all the catch basins tile runs add utilities require traffic control? If so will traffic need to be stopped completely on one side of the road or just slowed down?
Response: 1-The average length of the tile lines can be anywhere from 24 foot to 400-500 foot in length. The average diameter of the tile line will range from 12 inches to 24 inches in most cases. 2-Some tile lines may go as far as 500 foot in one direction and the largest we usually encounter is 24 inches in diameter. 3-Storm water And sanitary basins vary from 24 inches wide to 4 foot wide. Average depth is 5-10 foot. 4-It is the contractors responsibility to test all material from the storm and sanitary basins and dump material at a certified landfill. Manifest for all basins cleaned will be required. 5-Traffic control for the local road catch basins will be the responsibility of JCDOT.
