Description: Sealed bids from General Contractors will be received by the Walker County Board of Education, at 298 Culberson Avenue, LaFayette, Georgia, 30728 for roofing projects involving portions of Fairyland Elementary, Rock Spring Elementary and Ridgeland High School, Walker County, Georgia. The bids for the project will be publicly opened at that time. Bidding Documents may be obtained at the Office of the Director of Facilities and Operations, 298 Culberson Avenue, LaFayette, Georgia, 30728, upon submission of a written request for the documents to the Director of Facilities & Operations, Mr. Chris Jones. The Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The Project will be awarded by base bid. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after 2:00 P.M., EST, February 9, 2017, except as otherwise expressly provided by applicable law. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than 5% of the Base Bid. Both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond will be required in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price. By submitting a Bid, the Bidder agrees to sign the Owner’s STANDARD FORM OF FIXED PRICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, which is one of the Bidding Documents. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. An outside visual inspection of the current roof of the Fairyland Elementary School Gym, the 1999 built portion of Rock Spring Elementary School, and the Cafeteria/Kitchen areas of Ridgeland High School may be conducted provided the same is conducted during normal school hours Monday through Friday, and prior to the inspection, the prospective bidder obtains a visitor’s pass from the Office of the Principal of the school.

Overview: The roof project at Ridgeland High School will involve the kitchen area ONLY. The original documents included the cafeteria area as well, but the cafeteria will NOT be a part of this bid package. The kitchen area is the only area that will be included for this project.
