These services shall include the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the provision of lawn maintenance services, all of which is further described within this RFP document.

Pre-Bid Meeting Details: Please sign up if you plan to attend the pre-bid meeting.A MANDATORY PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT FLORENCE COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION, 710 S. IRBY ST., FLORENCE, SC 29501 ON MONDAY, AUGUST 28, 2023 @ 9:00 a.m. (ET). NO OTHER PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PRE PROPOSAL CONFERENCE, MANDATORY VISITS/TOURS WILL BE MADE TO ALL POTENTIAL WORK SITES. NO OTHER SITE VISITS/TOURS WILL BE SCHEDULED. ALL SITES NOT DONE ON THIS DAY WILL BE DONE THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS DAY. ALL POTENTIAL RESPONDERS MUST ATTEND BOTH THE MANDATORY PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE AND ALL THE MANDATORY SITE VISITS/TOURS.

Overview: Question:  Concerning visiting the sites after the pre-bid meeting; Is there any way that we can follow the bus?

Answer: Half of the purpose for this trip is the discussion that goes on in the bus. We will try to make accommodations for those who have needs outside of the norm.

Question: Can mulch be bid on separately? Or at least the playground mulch only be bid on

Response: No mulch is involved in this contract. Most of our playgrounds have rubber surfacing so RFPs/Bids for this service is not done very often and are done separately.

Question: For the "mandatory site visits" will all vendors ride together or will we meet at each site. This seems to be a huge waste of time considering all of the sites and distance between them. With the technology and the counties assets, it seems this could be prepared better and more considerate of out time and provide site maps and overlays for each site. There is not much difference between the grass growing in Florence verses Johnsonville...it all grows like crazy in the summer.

Response: The Mandatory Site Visit IS REQUIRED and vendors will meet at the Parks and Rec. Bldg. and then a bus/van provided will take everyone to visit each park. Each park is very different. We require this tour to avoid complications once the work begins. This is necessary in order to know what to cut and what not to; to understand our expectations. Some areas require bush hogging.

Question: As a small business owner this is entirely way to many properties to ensure they are cut every 7 days. It would be nice to see these broken into each individual county/town to allow more “local” companies

Response: Thank you for your feedback. All of the parks that we visited and that are listed in this solicitation are all Florence County parks.
