Description: Rio Rancho Public Schools (“RRPS”) is seeking professional services to include but are not limited to the area of Special Education Teachers and Paraprofessional supports for any/all site-based classrooms and District level programs at the direction of the Executive Director of Special Services or designee. RRPS is seeking Special Education Teachers which would be inclusive to all subcategories as well as those with additional areas and licensure. In addition RRPS is seeking Educational Assistants/Paraprofessionals with and without extra training such as general behavior modification, behavioral technicians in all areas, Board Certified Assistant Behavioral Analyst (BCaBA), Registered Behavioral Technician, and areas of Autism specialties. Selected service providers will be issued a price agreement depicting the scope of work, deliverables and pricing schedule.

Question: • Is the district open to direct hire candidate referrals as well as hourly referrals/placements? • Will you accept/consider referrals for candidates to work virtually if they already hold NM teacher credentials? • Does NM offer waivers/exemptions for educators who hold a full NM license to teach outside their area of endorsement (e.g., a teacher holds a history endorsement but can receive a waiver to teach special education)? • Has New Mexico passed legislation, updated state rules/policies, etc. in response to COVID that temporarily ease requirements to obtain a teaching license? If yes: o How long are these options available to NM districts? • Is the district looking for additional/external induction support for new placements? o If yes, what supports does the district already provide? • What current supports does Rio Rancho offer to help its employees pass the Special Education: Core Knowledge and Applications (Code 5354) Praxis exam or the ParaPro? o Should we include 5354 Praxis Prep pricing in our response? o Should we include ParaPro Prep in our response?
