Question 1
Posted: 1/26/2022
Question: As part of the clearing and grubbing, are we also responsible for grinding and hauling the mulch or are we allowed to burn?
Response: Burning is permitted as long as the location meets requirements for distance from US Highway 76/301. All applicable regulations should be met by the contractor if they burn.
Question 2
Posted: 1/27/2022
Question: on pages 02110-1 section 1.4C and pages 02110-2 section 3.5A in the specs, states burning will not be allowed, are these sections going to be waved so that burning will be allowed?
Response: Burn on site is allowed. Bidder shall confirm with applicable local, state, and federal agencies, including but not limited to, Florence County, SC Forestry Commission, and FAA. Prior to burning activity, notification shall be made to the SC Forestry Commission per their guidelines.
Question 3
Posted: 1/28/2022
Question: Regarding line item #4 "Non-Jurisdictional Wetlands to be filled/sloped to drain - 22.1 Acres", the plans do not indicate proposed elevations. Can a grading plan be provided for the contractor to quantify this amount? Or, could the unit of measurement be changed from Acres to Cubic Yards?
Response: Soil on site will be utilized to achieve the desired effect as it pertains to the wetland or low lying areas. Expectation is minor grading effort due to the clearing and grubbing efforts of the entire acreage to either achieve adjacent existing ground elevations or something less to accommodate drainage and allow for permanent grassing in wetlands area to be disturbed. Hence the per acre price for the wetlands.
Question 4
Posted: 1/28/2022
Question: Do we have to haul dirt from outside sources to fill the wet lands area. Also do we require a permit to fill this area or the permit is already obtained.
Response: See question #4. No permit required for Isolated, Non-Jurisdictional Wetlands. Working now on the Land Disturbance Permit through SCDHEC.

Response: Additional shallow ditching is permitted, as needed, utilizing the detail on Sheet EC4.2. Please coordinate with the Engineer during construction.
Question 7
Posted: 1/29/2022
Question: the existing structures onsite (shed, barn, house) are they to remain in place or be removed?
