Sealed bids will be received in hand in the office of the Purchasing Officer, Oconee County Board of Commissioners (OCBOC), Suite 203, 23 N. Main Street, Watkinsville, GA. 30677, prior to 2:00 PM on Friday, July 27, 2018 for the full depth reclamation with foamed asphalt of Meriweather Drive. The detailed Scope of Work and Technical Specifications are outlined in the bid documents. At that time, date, and place given above, Suite 205, the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Specifications and bid forms can be obtained from the Office of the Purchasing Officer or Vendor Registry.
The Meriweather Drive FDR Reclamation with Foam Asphalt repair and rehabilitation involves implementing expanded (foamed) asphalt to perform an FDR on Meriweather Drive. Meriweather Drive is 1.50 miles in length, beginning at Jimmy Daniel Road and ending at Jennings Mill Road, and has an asphalt surface area of approximately 19,560 square yard. The work shall be commenced within thirty (30) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed within sixty (60) calendar days thereafter, unless otherwise specified.
A bid bond of 5% and a Consent of Surety form from a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia is required with the bid. A performance bond and a payment bond of 100% each will be required upon notice of award. Pre-Bid Meeting Details: A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the address referenced above, in suite 205. All interested parties are required to attend. The purpose of this meeting is to allow potential bidders an opportunity to present questions to staff and obtain clarification of the requirements of the bidding document. Because Oconee County considers such a meeting to be critical to understanding the bid requirements, attendance at the pre-bid meeting is mandatory to qualify as a bidder.
