Is the cost to install the new power transformer being covered by the County? 3. Is the cost to remove the existing utility poles being paid by the County. 4. Will the County be paying for all of the special inspections. 5. Will the contractor “bidder” be required to provide builders risk insurance. 6. The architectural plans call for the timber truss connectors to be black powder coated steel. The structural plans call for hot dipped galvanized steel. Which is it? 7. Please provide the paint finish specifications for the exposed roof truss wood ceilings. 8. Will the copper water lines need to be installed “inside” of the CMU walls, or surface mounted? 9. Please provide a pedestrian gate detail for pricing. 10. What is the required top elevation of the flood barrier gates? Will stamped engineered plans and calculations be required as part of submittal? 11. Please provide a specification for the waterproofing of the concrete slab and CMU walls at the restrooms. 12. Is the cost to remove the existing utility poles being paid by the County. No. The bid documents call for removal of existing utility poles (and any lines) by the Contractor. 4. Will the County be paying for all of the special inspections. The County will pay for required independent testing of masonry and wood framing. Any additional testing is the responsibility of the Contractor. 5. Will the contractor “bidder” be required to provide builders risk insurance. Yes, the Contractor should provide Builder’s Risk Insurance. 6. The architectural plans call for the timber truss connectors to be black powder coated steel. Question: Does the material for the timber trusses and 2x6 T&G ceiling need to be pressure treated?
Response: “The trusses and beams need to pressure treated. The 2x6 and 1x6 V-groove ceilings do not need to be pressure treated. To be clear on the 1x6 and 2x6 v-groove ceilings, here is where they are used. -2x6 ceilings are used when they are part of the roof system. -1x6 ceilings are used on the flat ceilings in the bathrooms and hallway. They do not need to be 2x6 because they are just hung from the ceiling joists and are not spanning long distances.”
