Rancho Public Schools (RRPS) is seeking to establish a District “Price
Agreement” for the purchase of Category 2 Eligible Services for a two (2) year
period. RRPS also has some cabling
upgrades as part of the proposal.
RRPS will evaluate Proposals
for E-Rate eligible Category 2 Services and equipment. Several Schools (Item#1)
need infrastructure copper refreshed from older Cat5 and below. The current and much larger project is the
Districtwide switch refresh. RRPS IT has implemented an HP standardization
strategy for minimizing IT costs within the District organization to keep
hardware and software as consistent as possible and reducing the number of
tools we have to address the same basic needs to overall to help reduce
expenditures. Moreover, RRPS has
adopted the philosophy and applied it the other technologies and power
infrastructure.
However, in compliance with
FCC rules and as stated earlier in the RFP, the district is willing to consider
equivalent equipment. Vendors bidding a
non-HP solution MUST provide documentation to demonstrate the equivalency of
the proposed solution. The district
will be the arbiter responsible for determining compatibility with existing
infrastructure.

Question: During walk thru it was discussed to remove existing cabling and coil above ceiling in each space, in doing so the existing pathways and J hooks may not be viable options. Are we all to include new J hooks and pathways for all new cables in our proposals?

Question: In MDF/IDF's that do not have enough available space in sleeves for new cables, are we to include new penetrations and sleeves?

Question: The excel workbook provided has a total footage of Category 6 and 6A as one line item, would it be possible for RRPS to provide the cable lengths desired for each cable type in order for all parties to provide pricing to the same cable length requirements?

Question: Tab 2 on the Cat 2 RFP 2022-007 IT Pricing WB contains schools not walked or information provided, was this tab included in error or do we need to include pricing for each of these sites as well?

Question: Our questions were not answered yet, so I am resubmitting: 1. At the site walk though it was discussed to remove the installation of 4 post racks at some IDF locations due to space and or clearance restraints. Please list which IDF rooms the 4 post racks were de-scoped from. 2. Will any drops be required in MDFs/IDFs? 3. Can we get the telecommunications as-built drawings of each school?
