Description:

Sealed bids from General Contractors will be received by Walker County Board of Education, at 298 Culberson Avenue, LaFayette, Georgia, 30278, until 11:00 A.M., EST, on August 19, 2019, for construction of Re-roof for the old Fairview Elementary School buildings located at 205 Jenkins Road, Rossville, Georgia 30741.  At the time and place identified above, the bids for the Project will be publicly opened and read.

Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office of the Architect, Southern A&E, LLC, at 7951 Troon Circle, Austell, Georgia 30168 or by calling 770-819-7777 to request a password and link to Southern A & E’s online plan service to view the documents, upon submission to the Architect of a written request for the documents. There is no deposit required and no refunds will be made. 

The Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.  The Project will be awarded by base bid plus selected alternates. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after 2:00 P.M., EST, June 11, 2019 except as otherwise expressly provided by applicable law.  Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than 5% of the Base Bid.  Both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond will be required in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price.  By submitting a Bid, the Bidder agrees to sign the Owner’s STANDARD FORM OF FIXED PRICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, which is one of the Bidding Documents.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.

All anticipated federal, state and local permits required for the Project have not yet been obtained.  Drawings have been submitted to local authorities and permits are expected soon.
