Description: Separate sealed Bids for the construction of W.B. Casey Water Reclamation Facility 2015 Improvements will be received by the Clayton County Water Authority at 1600 Battle Creek Road, Morrow, Georgia 30260 until 10:00 a.m. local time, the 1st day of September, 2015, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after the specified time will not be considered. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the W.B. Casey Water Reclamation Facility, 688 Flint River Road, Jonesboro, Morrow, Georgia 30238 on August 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. local time, to discuss the Project. Bidders are encouraged to attend; however, attendance is not required. A visit to the W.B. Casey Water Reclamation Facility will be made after this meeting. The Project consists of two engineering designs developed separately by two Engineers, but which will be awarded as one construction contract as the W.B. Casey Water Reclamation Facility 2015 Improvements Project. The two designs are generally referred to as the Headworks Upgrades and the Clarifier Upgrades. The Headworks Upgrades portion of the Project generally consists of construction of a new screening facility utilizing a rotary drum screen, improvements to the existing PTU including concrete rehabilitation of interior surfaces, refurbish existing slide gates, replacement of the existing manual bar screen rack, replacement of the existing grit pump with a self-priming pump, construct primary clarifier bypass pipe, associated site piping and valves, and associated electrical and instrumentation and control work, modification of piping at the existing Sludge Blending Tank, and cleaning the existing BRB basins as directed by the Owner. Bid alternates related to Headworks Upgrades include: refurbishing the existing mechanical screens, installing new grit chamber baffles, modifying the materials of construction of the drum screen enclosure, and replacing the existing slide gates at the existing PTU in lieu of refurbishing them. The Clarifier Upgrades portion of the Project consists of the installation of a new secondary clarifier with a suction header mechanism similar to the existing three secondary clarifiers, a new RAS pump at the existing RAS Pump Station No. 2, modifications to the existing MLSS splitting box including a new gate and chemical piping, addition of baffles to existing clarifiers, surface repair and coating of existing Clarifiers Nos. 1, 2 and 3, piping modifications to chlorine solution chemical lines, and cleanout of the existing PE/RAS splitter box. Bid alternates related to Clarifier Upgrades include: three electrical actuators on the biological basin gates. The Bidding Documents, consisting of Advertisement for Competitive Sealed Bid, Instructions to Bidders, Bid Form, Bid Bond, Construction Contract, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, General and Supplementary Conditions, Specifications, Drawings, and Addenda may be examined at the main offices of the Owner at 1600 Battle Creek Road, Morrow, Georgia. Prices include sales tax and two-day shipping. Return of the documents is not required. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed Bid Form and accompanied by Bid Security as prescribed in the Instructions to Bidders, payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount Bid.
