Question 1

Posted: 4/26/2024

Question: Work location: - Are the technicians based in a single, central location in Carlsbad, NM, or are they based at one or more schools? - If they are based in a central location, how do they move between school sites? On average how many requests for support on a daily/weekly basis? How many full-time technicians do you require to support this workload? What are the intake methods for support requests: - Phone calls to a central number? - Email request? - Walk-up request? - Self-service portal from your ITSM platform? Are all technicians required 12 months per year and will they work when school is not in session? What skill level is required for the Audio/Visual work? Will you provide desk space and all required equipment (computer, mobile phone, etc.) for the technicians? Will you provide training in the support processes and procedures specific to the Carlsbad Municipal Schools? Will work in classrooms be restricted to the time of day when students are not in class? What are your requirements for criminal background check and drug screening?

Response: They will be based at a single location and will dispatch from there. They will ride along with one of the District's technicians in a company vehicle to get from site to site. There is no average. Besides taking care of tickets, the District constantly has ongoing projects so the staff is kept busy for the entire day. The District is looking for approximately 5 to 7 technicians for assistance, along with District staff to handle the workload. Phone calls, ticket requests, and a few walk-up requests. All technicians are required 12 months per year and work when school is not in session. There aren't any specifics the District is looking for other than just more than a Novice Level. Someone who knows Osha's regulations on properly hanging (flying) a light, how to set up a projector, a screen, etc. would all be advantageous. Most of these things the District would teach. The District will provide desk space and all required equipment for the technicians. Training will be provided in the support processes and procedures specific to CMS. No, some work would need to be performed with students present. Yes, the District would require a background check and drug screening.
