Description: Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the Fox Valley Park District, until the hour of 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the office of the Fox Valley Park District, 101 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora, Illinois 60506 for the Aquatic Chemical Supply and Delivery to 3 sites within Aurora, Illinois. Proposal specifications and instructions may be accessed from https://www.foxvalleyparkdistrict.org/our-mission/bids-rfps-results/. Bids will be opened at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the Cole Center (101 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora, IL 60506) at which time the bids will publicly read. The work consists of the supply and delivery of pool chemicals as described in the bid packet. The price shall include all costs necessary to supply and deliver all necessary chemicals both liquid and dry. Bids should be submitted, as per instructions, on the appropriate bid form. Each bidder shall submit their proposal on the form supplied by the District. Each proposal shall be sealed in an envelope marked "Aquatic Chemical Supply and Delivery” and delivered to: Fox Valley Park District 101 W. Illinois Ave. Aurora, Illinois 60506 Attn: Jerry Hernandez All bids must be delivered by the specified opening time. Bids arriving after the specified hour will not be considered regardless of the postmarked time. Bids will be rewarded based on per item or line price, not on total cost of all products bid. No bid bond will be required for this bid. This will not be a prevailing wage project. All bids will remain firm for ninety (90) days after the bid opening. Fox Valley Park District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive bid formalities, and to accept the lowest responsible bid that serves the best interests of the District. Minority and women owned businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The successful contract bidder(s) are encouraged to utilize minority and women owned businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services and construction. Question: I did not see a bid for Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5 % . Was this product left off on purpose?
Response: The Fox Valley Park District no longer uses bulk Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5%. All of the chlorine feed systems now use Calcium Hypochlorite 3” pucks from Accu-Tab. Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5% will only be purchased in small one gallon volumes as needed.

Question: Was there to be a 10% bid bond for this RFP? The Legal Notice states “No Bid Bond will be required.” However, the Notice to Bidders requires a 10% Bid Surety.
