Description: The City of Beaufort is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to make repairs and replace windows to the City’s office building located at 500 Carteret Street, Beaufort, SC. The building was constructed in 1934 and served as an auto dealership. In 1983 it was renovated and completely reconfigured into a bank/office building. Currently, there are various tenants in the building to include, City offices, Park Beaufort, Beaufort Digital Corridor, Southern Carolina Landing Pad and three (3), individual businesses.

Sealed Proposals must be submitted by email to procurement@cityofbeaufort.org.

1. Q. What are normal business hours?
A. Normal business hours are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Some of the individual office tenants work after normal business hours and on the weekends.
2. Q. What are the guidelines for individual window replacement?
A. There must be no open spaces. All windows must be intact overnight.
3. Q. What is the interior finish around the windows to be?
A. Wood, painted.
4. Q. What is the condition of the columns?
A. There is some wood rot and stress cracks in the stucco.
5. Q. Is the interior paint-match to be corner to corner?
A. The paint-match is dependent upon the contractor’s judgement subject to city approval.
6. Q. Is there a layout area for trailers and equipment?
A. Yes, the area behind the building may be used for layout.
7. Q. What is the inspection process?
A. The City building inspectors will inspect the work on-site.
8. Q. Is a City building permit required?
A. A City permit is required at no cost to the contractor.
