Question: is the existing roof membrane to be removed?,what type of new roof membrane is required? any material/ and labor warranties? are skylights to be removed?

Response: Yes, the existing roof membrane will need to removed. The County is looking for vendors to provide their best option for roof membrane. The material warranty should be 20 years and labor 15 years. There are no skylights at the County shop.

Question: One of the existing roofs is an asphalt modified bitumen roof system. There is a potential for hazardous containing materials in the roof felts. Will the county have this tested for any hazardous materials before the bid date and provide contractors with the information? The cost of the project will be greatly impacted by the results of this testing.

Response: No, the County will not have it tested before. If an award is made and during the construction process it is determined that the felts need to be tested the County will do so at that time.
