Question 1

Posted: 10/1/2021

Question: In reference to the current solicitation RFP #2022-05. Could a alternative be considered for the pipe lining material. I would like to offer a product called Thermform. This is a forum in place PVC product. This product also requires no excavation

Response: City ordinances require reinforced concrete pipe therefore in order to maintain compliance with our own ordinances an alternative will not be considered.

Question 2

Posted: 10/4/2021

Question: Could you please tell me when the questions due deadline is for this project?

Response: October 14th.

Question 3

Posted: 10/5/2021

Question: Please confirm that a bid bond will not be required with submission of proposals for this project.

Response: A bid bond will NOT be required with submission of proposal for this project.

Question 4

Posted: 10/5/2021

Question: Spray rehab should be completed by a qualified & experienced applicator; otherwise, the Owner is at risk of damaging their system(s) or homeowner properties. Will the Owner please consider adding qualification requirements for the spray contractor? We suggest requiring Bidders to supply evidence of 25,000' or more of 36" diameter pipe or larger.

Response: The team will verify references and a city inspector will inspect the entire process thoroughly.

Question 5

Posted: 10/5/2021

Question: The current specification requires 3" of shotcrete, possibly reducing the hydraulic capacity of the pipe more than necessary. Will the Owner please consider the use of spray geopolymer to rehab these pipes at a minimum thickness of 1.0" (verified by P.E.)? This application will not require reinforcing wire and will provide 28 day compressive strengths of 8,000 psi.

Response: We are seeking reinforced concrete to meet city ordinances.

Question 6

Posted: 10/13/2021

Question: We are very interested in bidding the subject project. We do have a few questions and product / thickness recommendations we would like for you to consider. I can't attach a document to share our submittal packet, where can I send to? After a site visit, we measured Sabrina Court as a 60” rather than a 48” as specified. Can you please confirm? We would like to submit our Geopolymer Mortar, GeoKrete, at 1.5” thick as an alternate to the Shotcrete at 3” for both Sabrina Court and Rivercrest. After review of the pipe conditions, our engineer has determined that 1.5” of GeoKrete is sufficient to fully restore both pipes. Quadex GeoKrete has 2x the compressive strength of Shotcrete as shown on the TDS in our Submittal Packet. Also, fibrous reinforcement is already in our GeoKrete mix, so we do not propose use of additional reinforcement. I have attached our Submittal Packet which will include our TDS, Specifications, Case Studies, warranty, etc. We also recommend the corrugations be filled due to the deformations we noted while on site (for all bidders). Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you,

Response: The correct dimension for the Sabrina Court pipe is 60" x 70' approximately. Please see Addendum 1: Pipe Dimension Correction and Zoom Link. Furthermore, we did not spec a polymer based product for this repair.
