2021 Highway Striping Project

Notice is hereby given that Barton County, Kansas is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the 2021 Highway Striping Project.  The project consists of painting centerline and edge line markings on approximately 101 miles of blacktop roads.

Plans, Specifications, and Bidding documents may be examined at the Barton County Engineer’s Office.  Contractors may obtain Plans, Specifications and Bidding Documents at the address below upon a nonrefundable payment of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) cash, check or money order (payable to Barton County).

 Sealed proposals for the project will be received by Barton County until 2:00 p.m. local time, July 13, 2021, in the County Clerk’s office at the Barton County Courthouse in Great Bend, Kansas at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.  All bids shall be submitted using the Bid Form in the bidding documents.  Bidders are encouraged to be present at the bid opening, but if the bid must be mailed it should be addressed to the following:

All hand-delivered and mailed bids must be received prior to the stated bid opening time.  The envelope shall be clearly marked on the outside as Bid for the 2021 Highway Striping Project along with the name and address of the bidder.

All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Certified or Cashier’s Check in the amount of 5% of the total bid.  Checks or bonds are to be made payable to Barton County and serve as a guarantee of the sincerity and integrity of the bidder and shall be forfeited to the County if said proposal or bid is accepted and the bidder fails to execute the contract and file the required statutory and performance bonds as required in the contract documents.  This project will be exempt from Kansas Sales Tax.

Barton County reserves the right to waive any and all technicalities and to reject any and all bids.
