CITY OF QUINCY, ILLINOIS

Sealed bids for the Proposed SANITARY SEWER REPAIR– SOUTH 24^TH & CURTIS CREEK project – Ward 5 (Project MR 618), in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, 730 Maine Street, City Hall, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the Council Chamber of the Quincy City Hall.

The Proposed Project consists of furnishing and installing Type A Manhole - 5’ Diameter, removing and installing sewer pipe – 27”, temporary sheet piling, rip-rap, tree removal & planting, barrier fencing ; and other miscellaneous construction items.

Plans and specifications are available online at www.quincyil.gov/bids and may be examined at the office of Department of Utilities & Engineering, 730 Maine Street, Room 226, Quincy, Illinois 62301.

All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the City of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications.

The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.

The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to determine the qualifications of any and all contractors to perform the work required under this contract.

Bidders are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workers performing work under this contract.
