Overview:
Until the stormwater management aspect of this is engineered
and approved, an accurate construction cost cannot be known since specific bid
quantities for BMPs, excavation, utility replication etc. are not known.
How will Darlington County address discrepancies between a
cost estimate based on unknown quantities, and a cost estimate based upon the
approved engineering design completed as a part of Phase I?
Will a cost for paving only be sufficient for Phase II until
the final cost can be accurately determined?
ANSWER: Submit the proposal on what you know the cost would be. Anything additional (known or possible unknown) place on the exceptions page with the cost per unit. Understanding that the actual amount is unknown until storm water management is approved.
