Description:

Sealed bids will be received by Dorchester County Purchasing Division, located at 201 Johnston Street, 2nd Floor, Saint George, SC 29477 until April 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm EST for construction of Dorchester Road Area Pump Station Upgrade, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids must be submitted on the complete project and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, addressed to Dorchester County Purchasing Division, 201 Johnston Street, 2nd Floor, St. George, SC 29477. Outside of the envelope must be marked “Bid for Dorchester Road Area Pump Station Upgrade.” Envelope must also bear, on the outside, the name of the bidder, bidder’s address, and bidder’s license number. All bids must be made on blank forms provided and included in the bound document or as provided by Addendum prior to bid.Work of the Project includes upgrades to the existing Dorchester Road Area Pump Stations as follows: * Pump Station 39: Replace existing 3 Hp submersible pumps with 5 Hp submersible pumps. Relocate existing electrical junction box between the wet well and the pump control panel. Remove existing conduit, pump cables, and level switch cables between the wet well and control panel. Install new conduit, pump cables, and level float switch cables between the wet well and relocated electrical junction box.   * Pump Station 73: Remove existing 15 Hp submersible pumps, ultrasonic level transmitter, float switches, electrical junction box, and control panel. Install new 15 Hp submersible pumps, control panel, primary submersible pressure level transducer, and back-up float switches. Install new junction box, conduit, pump cables, level control cables, and float switch cables between the wet well and new control panel. * Relocate Pump Station 73 Force Main Discharge Location: Install approximately 50 linear feet of 10-inch restrained joint PVC force main pipe and appurtenances to connect the PS 73 force main to an existing 30-inch force main in the Dorchester Road right-of-way.Restore all landscaping and landscape lighting to pre-construction conditions or better.  * Pump Station 82: Upgrade and convert the existing pump station from a triplex 7.5 Hp pump configuration to a duplex 10 Hp submersible pump configuration with above-ground ductile iron pump station piping, plug valves, and air release valves. The existing wet well will be rehabilitated with an epoxy corrosion resistant liner. A new 4-inch magnetic flow meter will also be provided and installed. Other site work includes extension of the existing pump station slab on grade to accommodate the new flow meter and replacement of the chain link fencing around the pump station site. Electrical sitework includes installation of approximately 65 feet of new buried electrical service linefrom the electrical utility pole to the pump station and conduit and conductors from the wet well to the new control panel. The existing electrical rack and junction box will be reused. An allowance for installation of the County’s SCADA system is included.Temporary bypass pumping and piping will be required during construction of the pump station upgrades.
