Title: Timber Sale at CR 315 - Silver Springs Forest Conservation Area

Deadline: 9/20/2022 2:00 PM   (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Status: Deadline Expired

Solicitation Number: 38132

Description: This is a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 217 acres within the Silver Springs Conservation Area, located approximately 1.5 miles northeast of Silver Springs, Florida. The Sale Area is in Section 27; Township 14 South; Range 23 East. Sale boundaries include CR 315, marked property boundary, forest roads, hardwood wetlands, and obvious change in timber type (See Attachment B for Sale Area map). This timber sale is a combination of clearcut and logger-select thinning within natural and planted pine stands. Timber to harvest from thinnings includes every fourth row for access and select thinning of leave rows to achieve a density of 200 trees per acre. Timber harvested from leave rows will be selected based on the following criteria: diseased, defective, and suppressed trees shall be harvested first, followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired density. All merchantable pine shall
be harvested from the clearcut area. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 6,800 tons of pulpwood and 880 tons of chip-n-saw, and 1,180 tons of sawtimber, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
