Type of Addition: Question answered via email

Overview:

Am I interpreting the Asphalt Paving Specifications correctly by assuming the County will prep the site and install the 8” of GAB and compact it?  And the successful contractor will install the two (2) lifts of asphalt only?

Yes. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that the base is appropriate for the project prior to putting the asphalt down.

Type of Addition: Question answered via email

Overview:

1. Is the area staked for paving so that it can be measured for bidding purposes?  It has been painted at the field.
2. Will the site be to finished grade when time to pave?   That is the plan. It is the responsibility of the awarded vendor to ensure the grading meets standards.
3. When can the site be visited to evaluate the site?  You can go there any time you like.  It is not in a locked area.
4. Will JCSS be suppling the square yards measurement needed for paving so everyone has an equal quantity to bid?  No, it is your responsibility to obtain the measurements needed to supply the pricing.  We know the area that needs to be pave, we have laid out the outline.  It will be expected that the awarded vendor will provide paving in the outlined area.  As far as equal quality to the bid, it is suggested that you visit the site on your own and get your measurement since it will be the awarded vendor's responsibility to meet the requirements in regards to the space marked off.
