Question 1
Posted: 8/9/2022
Question: 1. From the RFP document- DPR averages 75/100 rides per week, SCAT averages 50-60 a month. How many rides (vouchers) does DHS provide in a week or month? 2. Of those DHS rides, what % are children? Under 18? Under 12? 3. Do you have any indicator or how many rides (in %) require wheelchairs, walkers or do you sometimes need a wheelchair lift? Thank you!
Response: The County cannot provide a guarantee of trips per day due to changing demand. If school is out, clients do not need transportation to school. During COVID, programs shuttered, but are now starting to operate. The County estimates that the number of trips per day is 80 on weekdays. There are fewer trips on weekends. Using March 2022 data, our Child and Family Services Division accounted for 80% of the 454 rides total March rides for DHS. We do not have the data to say how many riders are under 18 or 12. Note that a person can stay in Child and Family Services programs until they turn 21; they do not always forgo services once they turn 18.
