The City of Framingham (City), Department of Public Works
(DPW), invites bids for the supply and installation of two Cambium PTP820
microwave links on the Massachusetts State Police Headquarters Tower located in
Framingham, MA. The original equipment
was struck by lightning. Work will
include supply, installation and configuration at the Massachusetts State
Police Headquarters Tower, and includes furnishing all necessary labor,
materials, and equipment necessary to perform the work. The awarded contractor must be able to
execute a contract and subsequently perform the work on a priority schedule. A site visit is not mandatory. Contractors who wish to view the site must contact
the DPW for an appointment to visit the site with a DPW representative.

Question: Is the city amenable to substitution of the Cambium PTP820 links with comparable products from a different manufacturer? What are the specifications for the Microwave links? Frequency? License Callsign (FCC)? How many T1s or how much IP traffic needs to be passed? Installation Heights at each location? The bid spec states that 2 links are to be provided, however the spec only states one tower location, where are the other two towers located that need the other end of the microwave (far end)?
