1. Proper staging of materials. Materials shall arrive onsite in their manufacturers labeling and be kept in a watertight/temperature safe environment prior to installation as per all manufacturers’ recommendations that apply.
2. Remove 1,900 SF of existing asphaltic 3-tab shingles and underlayment components down to the lumber decking. Remove and properly dispose of 200 LF of edge metal, 60 LF of ridge vent and one (1) box vent.
3. Once the existing roof system has been removed the lumber decking should be removed and replaced with like kind and quality components.
4. New synthetic underlayment (1,900 SF) should then be installed atop the lumber deck per manufacturer recommendations. Ensure the underlayment is positively lapped to prevent water bucking.
5. Install new aluminum edge metal (200 LF) along all rake lines and eaves. The underlayment should transition atop the edge metal at the eave or be stripped in with self-adhered membrane or roofing cement.
6. Install 1,900 SF of new architectural laminate shingles (aesthetics to be approved by owner) per manufacturer recommendations. Ensure fastener attachment patterns are adequate for uplift requirements (6 fasteners recommended).
7. Install 60 LF of new ridge and one (1) box vent per manufacturer recommendations. Ensure ridge shingles are blind nailed as required by the manufacturer.
