Description:

Sealed bids from General Contractors will be received by Walker County Board of Education, at 298 Culberson Avenue, LaFayette, Georgia, 30728, until 11:00 A.M., EST, Wednesday, September 25, 2019, for construction of a New Fueling Station to be located at 925 Osburn Road, Chickamauga, GA 30707.  At the time and place identified above, the bids for the Project will be publicly opened and read.

 

Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office of the Architect, Southern A&E’s office at 7951 Troon Circle, Austell, GA 30168 or by calling 770-819-7777 to request a password and link to Southern A&E’s online plan service to view the documents, upon submission to the Architect of a written request for the documents, together with deposit of $0.00 per set.  The deposit will be refunded as provided in the Instructions to Bidders. 

 

The Contract, if awarded, will be on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.  The Project will be awarded by base bid plus selected alternates when applicable at the discretion of the owner.  No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after 11:00 A.M., EST, Wednesday, September 25, 2019, except as otherwise expressly provided by applicable law.  Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than 5% of the Base Bid.  Both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond will be required in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price.  By submitting a Bid, the Bidder agrees to sign the Owner’s STANDARD FORM OF FIXED PRICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, which is one of the Bidding Documents.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.

 

All anticipated federal, state and local permits required for the Project have not been obtained.

 

All rights of way and easements anticipated for the Project have been obtained.
