Description: The objective of this project is to provide for large-scale harvest and disposal of rough fish designated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) from Lake Apopka in the Ocklawaha River Basin and Lake George in the St. Johns River Basin and to provide appropriate documentation of the harvest. The period of rough fish harvesting may occur between May and December of any year possibly continuing into the following year through March or April. The rough fish harvests usually range from 500,000 to 1.5 million pounds of fish per lake per harvesting period. The estimated budget for the period beginning October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2020 is $4,155,000 ($1,385,000 per District fiscal year).
