Deadline: 11/1/2022 2:00 PM   (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Status: Deadline Expired

Solicitation Number: 38258

Description: This is a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 154.5 acres within the Pellicer Creek Conservation Area, located in northern Flagler County, adjacent to the Princess Place Preserve. A portion of the Sale Area is in Section 14; Township 10 South; Range 30 East. Sale boundaries include firebreaks, posted property boundary, and wetlands (Maps are included in the attached agreement).

This timber sale is a combination of marked thinning, logger-select thinning, and clearcut within mature pine plantations. As indicated on the Sale Area map stand 3404009 is comprised of slash pine that was previously thinned twelve years ago and currently marked for second thinning with take-trees marked with blue paint at eye-level. Conversely, leave-trees are marked with blue paint in stand 3406003, which is a first thinning in longleaf pine. Although this is not a row thinning adequate space does exist between leave trees for access and skidding. Stand 3406040 is a logger-select thinning within mature slash pine that was fourth row thinned 18 years ago. Here take-trees shall be selected from old leave rows based on the following criteria: diseased, defective, and suppressed trees shall be harvested first, followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired density of 45 sq. ft. basal area per acre. Stand 3406003A is a clearcut that is 2.5 acres of planted longleaf; harvest all pines from this area. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 196 tons of pine mulch, 2363 tons of pine pulpwood, 155 tons of Chip-n-saw, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
