A.    PURPOSE OF THIS REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

 The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a contract through competitive negotiations for the procurement of design and install of a fire suppression system (sprinklers) that is tied in with the current fire alarm system for the annex and auditorium of the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts Center (Civic Center).

 B.     SCOPE OF PROCUREMENT

 Project scope is to design and install a fire suppression system in the civic center annex and auditorium.   This system must tie into the existing fire alarm system including an existing sprinkler system that serves a dressing room area on the north side of the auditorium   

Final design must be prepared by a qualified NICET Technician and ultimately approved through the State Fire Marshal’s Office.  Installation must be provided by a vendor certified to install and inspect this type of fire suppression system.

 PLEASE NOTE:  

• All bidders must complete a documented onsite inspection of the facility and the current fire alarm system.  This document signed by the bidder and a city employee must be submitted with the bid.  Failure to provide documentation of this inspection will nullify the bid.
• If this is a procurement that will result in a contractual agreement between two parties, the procurement may ONLY be used by those two parties exclusively.
