Description:

Beaufort County Public Works Solid Waste and Recycling operates 11 (eleven) Convenience Centers for use by County residents.  Latex paint and other miscellaneous Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are collected and transported, as needed, to the Public Works Complex – 120 Shanklin Road, Beaufort, South Carolina 29906.

Beaufort County Public Works Solid Waste and Recycling is requesting bids from vendors who can provide the necessary technical support, off-site transportation and proper disposal of materials collected.  These Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are not permitted for disposal in contracted Subtitle D landfill.

The bulk of HHW material collected is latex paint.  Off-site shipments [30-yard roll off box] are currently scheduled twice per month.  Other miscellaneous Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are shipped off-site bi-annually.  Estimated latex paint per units collected and consolidated are listed below:

                FY17              61,481 latex paint units

                FY18              71,510 latex paint units

                FY19              77,510 latex paint units anticipated
