Description:

The City of Murfreesboro, TN is soliciting Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Design-Build (D-B) teams to provide design-build services for the demolition and replacement of the City’s Hangar 1 (Quonset Hut Hangar) located at the Murfreesboro Airport (“MBT”), 1930 Memorial Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.  The selection process may entail two phases.  Phase 1 is a narrative response.  Upon review of D-B Team Qualifications, the City may select a number of D-B Teams who submitted Statements of Qualifications to proceed to Phase 2, which will be a mini-design competition.

The completed project will serve as a hangar that a private company will use to provide aircraft maintenance and avionics service to the flying public.  The hangar will house four large hangar bays, offices, and an area for shop and storage space.  The hangar bays will be designed to be flexible to allow for one business to operate out of all of the hangar bays or up to four customers storing aircraft in their own secured hangar bay.  If configured for one business and three individual customers leasing their own secured hangar bays, each individual hangar bay will have the ability to install a restroom in the corner of the hangar.
