Description:
Quietwater Beach Pier is located on Santa Rosa
Island and extends northward into the Santa Rosa Sound. The Pier lies directly
north of the Gulf of Mexico, Pensacola Beach Boardwalk and east of the Bob
Sykes Bridge. Hurricane Sally made landfall near Gulf Shores, Alabama on Wednesday,
September 16, 2020 and caused significant damage to the Pier. The proposed Hurricane Sally Repair work
includes, but is not limited to the following:
· Demolition and legal disposal of existing timber piles,
girders, bracing, stringers, blocking, composite decking, and electrical
components
· Procurement and installation of new marine grade
timber piles, girders, bracing, stringers, blocking, composite grating, and new
electrical system including lights
• Removal of fire protection system from pier and reinstallation at protected location.
